Brought in by the agency Splendid, I joined a large team of UX and UI designers, we worked alongside a large team of developers, using an agile way of working to create a brand new online banking site for The Co-operative Bank.
The site had to be clean and simple but provide users access to features that were not available at other banks at the time, such as spending tracking and savings goals.
When I came in to the team, the initial styling and feature ideas had been figured out, it was then the responsibility of our individual scrum teams to create the best flows and designs for each feature.
As the site was so clean and simple, it was a challenge to not let yourself add extra elements that you thought would compliment the content. We designed a lot of forms and form elements, and it was key to make sure each one was intuitive, yet clean.
Another challenge was completing the reviews of each page designs with an off shore team at different time differences, speaking different languages. It was essential that any amendments and actions were simple, detailed and clear so that you could reduce the risk of work not being completed whilst our UK office was closed.
