IBM Latin America brought me to Mexico City to work with Banorte Bank. It was my job to work alongside the UX team and design the UI for the new app and new ATM screens using their new brand. I then had to create detailed style guidelines for both.
We first set up a week long workshop with teams across the bank to understand the relationship between customers and their bank, as well as their relationship with their money.
We also asked them what they liked from existing banking apps and ATMs across the global banking sector.
Collectively we narrowed down key features we wanted to include within the app and ATMs so our team could plan the structure for both. From here I was able then develop the create rules for its use of the brand within to the app.
For the ATM screens I worked with the tech teams to understand the differences between 8 button and touch screen machines so I could design screens that worked best for each device and take advantage of any extra space/technology.
Once I had developed the guidelines, I delivered a handover of both projects to the local in-house designers for them to see through to completion. This required presenting a run through of the guidelines to give them a full understanding of how they were inherent in the designs.
