Whilst working as part of the collective ‘virtual agency’ Uncle Pablo, Signal toothpaste wanted all of their sites around the world to become consistent, sharing the same AEM components.
In addition to this, they required their sub-brands like ‘White Now’ and ‘Sensitive Mineral Active’ to sit within the Signal sites, having their own stylesheet but clearly still part of the Signal family.
My job was to work with the AEM developers and the various brand owners to understand each brand and their guidelines as well as the AEM platform and the various components available to use.
From this point my first job was to set up the main Signal navigation styling and then design the sub navigation, styled specifically for each of the sub-brands. The idea was to make it clear that Signal was the over-arching brand but that the user was on the sub-brand site. After that was defined I was able to build up each brand homepage using components that were shared across the Signal AEM but added unique touches for each brand. Therefore I was able to see how each brand would have it’s own style but still be clearly sitting within Signal. This took the form of background images, colour changes, page divider indicators etc.
From here I could develop the styling further across all of the other required pages within each brand site.
